Transparent Fill

Want to make a simple transparent fill, and learn how to use it? Thats easy enough. Just follow this tutorial, and you'll be fine!

So, first of all, you have to make a transparent, 50 x 50 image in animation shop. To do this, if you're a begginer, you go to file ---> new, and a screen will pop up. To make it transparent, make sure that, under 'canvas color' transparent is checked.

Now, right click on your new transparent image and press 'duplicate image'. Click on your new, second frame (F:2) and, once again, press 'duplicate selected'. Now we can get to adding the glitter!

Create a new, transparent, 3x3 image, and select the paintbrush () and set the width of the brush to 1. I also suggest that you zoom in 16:1. So, your settings should look like this...

Now, go to the right hand side of the screen, where the colour palette, along with the 'coloured boxes' are. Click on the upper box, and select the colour white. Click okay, and start to draw a cross like the one below on your transparent canvas.

Now, press CTRL+C, and go back to your 50x50 3 frames image. Click onto the first frame, zoom in a bit (view-->zoom in by 5) and press CTRL+E. Place the sparkle wherever you want, as long as the edge doesnt cut off any of it, you'll be fine. Do this until you think it has enough sparkles, and then go back to the paintbrush tool, and paint little dots (1px) around the first frame. Remember to spread them out evenly. Now, repeat this step, but do it to the second and third frame.

Now, your three frames are filled with 'sparkles' and 'dots', you're all done with making a transparent fill! Press this button --> to see it in action, then save it! Now for the next part of this little tutorial...

Using a transparent fill

Now that you've made your transparent fill, you need to use it. The question you're asking is; how? This part of the tutorial is going to teach you how. I'm not going to teach you how to make a glitter, you have to have the text (with no glitter) ready.

Open up your transparent fill in animation shop, if you havent already done so. Click on the first frame, and press CTRL +C (Or, right click-->copy) then go into paint shop pro, and paste the first frame into it, by pressing CTRL+V (Or, right click --> paste as new image). Do that with your second and third frame aswell.

All of your transparent fill frames should now be open in paint shop pro. Open up the text/image you want to glitter. Im using the image below

Open up a new blank, transparent image thats atleast as big as the text you want to add the transparent fill to. A bit bigger is good. Copy the text you want glitter (CTRL+C), and paste it (CTRL+E, Click down) onto your new blank canvas you just made. There ought to be marching ants aroung the text (Marching Ants - Black and white lines that around moving around your selected object)

After you've pasted it, go to the right hand side of your screen, and you'll notice that under the first 'box of colour' there are three smaller boxes. Click on the first box, and choose the 'Pattern' setting. Dont know which one to choose? Look below.

Now that you have it set to pattern, click on the box and it should come up with a small screen that looks something like below. Click on the little arrow on the side of the 'Funky Looking Box'.

Click on the first frame of the glitterfill. If the first frame of the glitter fill has the words 'Current Pattern' written underneath it, dont click on it. Click on the next glitterfill after that. Click okay.

Now, make sure that your 'Flood Fill Settings' are like the settings below.

Click on your image. It should now have the glitter fill covering it. Press CTRL+C (Or, Right click --> Copy) then, go into animation shop and press CTRL+V (Or, right click --> paste as a new animation).

Now, go to Edit--> Undo, and go back to the patterns, choose the second glitter fill you see (Not including the 'Current Pattern' one). Click on the word, and it should have the second frame of the glitter fill filling it. Copy it (CTRL+C Or, Right click --> Copy) then go into animation shop, click on the glitter text you pasted in it just a moment ago, and press SHIFT+CTRL+L. Now, repeating that step again, but with the third glitterfill that you see when you're in the patterns. Now you're done! Press this button --> to see your glitter in action, then save! This is what my glitter turned out like.

I hope this Helped! Please link back if so!
