Working artistic effects - Aqua setting
What is artistic effects?
Artistic effects gives you many different effects on text, and images! It can give your images anywhere from a 'glassy/aqua' effect to a 'smoky' effect. I highly recommend it to any website designer out there who needs something to spice up their graphics! Want it? You can buy it at http://www.artistic-effects.com/lae.html, for an affordable price. So now you understand what it is, its just how to work it that you don't understand...
Step 1 - What does the 'bevel width' option do?
The bevel width option can both increase and decrease (make bigger and smaller) the width of the bevel you want on your graphics. Playing around with the bevel width setting is what you usually have to do when you decide to apply the aqua effect to your graphics. It increases the width of the 'shine' of the graphic, pretty much changing how the shine shows up, what kind of shine it turns out as. It can be a wavy kind of a shine, a 2D kind of shine (in other words, a flatter shine), a soft kind of a shine, etc etc.
Step 2 - What does the 'Angle' option do?
The angel option changes... well, the angel on the shine. The place the shine is coming from. It can be coming from the left, the right, the bottom, the top, everywhere. You just have to drag the little pointer line, with the two dots on each end, to where you want the light coming from. Just pretend that the dot in the middle is your graphic, and the dot which is on the other in of the line, which can be moved around, is the sun. Which way to you want the 'sun' shining onto your graphic? Its as simple as that :)
Step 3 - What does the 'bevel depth' option do?
The bevel depth option lets you increase the depth of the bevel on your graphics. It can both increase and decrease the amount of shine on your graphic. My bevel depth is usually set to 100, because I like the way my graphics turn out when it is on that setting. It gives me the best results, but it may not for you. Bevel depth all in all makes the shine bigger, creating more of an aqua/shine effect, or smaller, making more of a glassy-ish effect on your graphic, though still looking quite aqua/shiny-ish.
